FEMALES

   **  SHOW PROSPECTS  **
After we wean our calves in the fall, you can come study over 100 heifer calves and pick your future champion.  Feel free to spend as much time as needed evaluating the heifers and sorting through all the data.  If you want to see a certain heifers' mother, we will take you to the pasture that she is in.  All of our mature cows are within 20 miles of our ranch.

    **  BRED HEIFERS  **
After culling around 20% of the weaned heifer calves, the rest are grown and prepared for breeding.  All of these heifers are AI'ed to the very best Limousin genetics.  This breeding season we used WulfHunt, and Lodestar heavily.  Other bulls included HUNT Potter 174P, RGMA Night Rider, Wulf's NASA, and HUNT Nate 153N.  We will sell any number of these heifers, from 1 to 75.  Each animal can be individually priced or we will work with you on a price for 10, 20, 30, etc.

    **  COWS  **
Our mature cow herd consists of approximately 400 registered Limousin cows.  Our cows here in south-central Nebraska don't have an easy life.  They must raise a calf every year, and do so by living on cornstalks in the winter and buffalo grass in the summer.  We do not creep feed our calves; this shows us which cows are doing their job and which cows are not getting it done as good as we want them to.  We cull, and sell, around 15% of our cow herd every year.  This results in a constant upgrade of our herd's genetics, performance abilities and efficiencies.

    **  Limousin X Angus FEMALES  **
For the past few years we have put together a group of around 200 Limi cross females.  We buy 1,200-1,500 of our customers' calves and pick off the very best heifers to breed.  This uniform group of heifers are all sired by bulls we have sold, so they are at least 50% Limousin, the other 50% is predominately Angus.  Throughout the year we cull any heifer that does not gain enough, has too small of a pelvic area or has the slightest bit of a temperament problem.  All heifers are AI'ed to HUNT Napthali 153N (Nate); one of the nations best herd sires for low birth weight calves that grow into thick, deep ribbed, functional cattle.  Nate is black and double polled.  We take care of these females just like our registered cattle, as good as we know how.  We offer these heifers for sale in any size package, any time of the year.  We also will take orders for next year.  Don't hesitate to call because they sell fast!!

We are now in the middle of AI'ing, breeding for February 1st calving on one group and February 10th on the next group.  If you are interested in having them AI'ed to a specific bull, call us and we can work that out, too.

Call the ranch any time or Dan's cell phone 308-991-3373.

Our sincere thanks go out to these 2007 crossbred heifer buyers:
